So hard to regularly post when I have such a beautiful distraction.

I will get back to normal posts, but I am doing a lot of cuddling baby, so that's all I have thought much about.  Isn't she a doll baby???
I am ready for some of that REAL fall teaser weather we had some weeks back.  I was wanting to make chili....but it seems too hot and humid!  How do you make chili?  Mine is super easy, and involves lots of cans.  I start out with my ground beef, whatever I happen to have.  I don't use 'Made for Chili" large ground beef...just whatever I have.  I brown it with onions, then drain.  I then add a can of tomato paste, a can of water, a can of tomato sauce, a can of ranch beans, a can of roasted tomaotes, diced and a good bit of chili powder, some salt, pepper and some brown sugar.  I know it's not helpful to not have amounts, but that's the way I cook so often.  You develop the right groove for what your family likes, and mostly do it the same way each time...anyway, here's to cooler, chili days!!!! Have a good day, and I'll see you back at the ranch, when I'm not busy cuddling!! :D

I can't imagine why you're distracted...

Precious picture! How many hundred have you taken? I would have the shiny red Kodak chained to the diaper bag.

I know what you mean about chili. My sister and I were just discusssing it on Sunday. It's sort of a throw it in meal. It's kind of hard to make BAD chili.

I've come close, I'm sure, though.

Suzanne, she is so pretty. Isn't it wonderful snuggling with her. Looks like she has brown eyes like I was hoping Leila would have, but hers are really blue like her daddy's. That's o.k. I just won't have a brown eyed grandbaby. I am sure she will be so bootiful with blond hair and blue eyes. Enjoy that little bundle all you can. I cried most of the way home yesterday even though she is close by. Silly I know.

Baby pictures are the best Suzanne, much more fun than chili. I know you are enjoying every minute with that sweet little bundle.

ADORABLE! You are SO lucky to have her to cuddle and play with! I know what you mean about that Fall tease....it sure has turned HOT again....UGHHH!!! The days DO seem to be getting shorter though. But I'm watering my lawn just as much as I did over the summer. Everything is CRISPY! :) Happy Fall from you neighbor "up north" in the Heights!

Good morning Gran. She does look like a little doll. She really is a pretty baby Suzanne. Really!

I make chili the same way. No recipe written down. Last year I started using ground turkey instead of ground beef. As long as you get it broken up well enough when your cooking I think there is no difference. This year I plan to try only black beans and no meat.... more diet friendly.

Also, I use Rotel sometimes. I've never used brown sugar. That's interesting. I think the main spice that I use pretty liberally that you don't list is cumin. I just started using cumin a few years ago and now I wouldn't dare make chili without it.

It was so hot here yesterday and last night. And still pretty uncomfortable this morning. The culprit is humidity of course.
