Friday Fives!!! and a baby peek!!!

I'm here in babyland soaking up all the soft baby scents, hugs and snuggles.  Ah, there is indeed nothing like it!  I'm not totally responsible for her every care, or for feeding her...wait, isn't that her only care right now???  Anyway, but I get to love on her and give her back when she needs to eat.  This is the life!!!

She is absolutely adorable, and I would say that even if she wasn't my brand new, very first grandchild.....she is hardly fussy, and really sleeps so well.  In fact, her mommy has a hard time getting her to wake up to eat!!
Here she is!

A newborn, taken in the hospital
1. Do you remember YOUR baby's first few days, or is a sleep-deprived faint and far-away memory?  Share something you remember.

Aren't those the CUTEST????

Sleeping soundly
2. What are your weekend plans?  I know what I am doing plenty of while I am here!!!

3. Are you looking forward to Daylight Savings Time going away or do you dread the colder, darker days?

4. What are you cooking since the weather is getting cooler?

5. Is there a touch of fall somewhere in your house, yard, or area?  What do you love to see?
Y'all have a great weekend!!

She is beautiful, pink, and precious!!! I'm so glad you shared these.

1. What I remember most was that she screamed in terror every time we tried to give her a bath. Thankfully, she got over that one.

She had a heart murmur and we were inexperienced so we panicked because she would turn BEET RED when she did it.

But I also remember getting to sing my very first lullaby. I did it in the hospital and as often as I could thereafter.

2. I'm ready for daylight savings time, I think.

3. Weekend plans? Just spending time with the husband when he gets home. We do have to take our picture for the new church directory tomorrow. Blech. And my girls won't be in it...

4. What is this cooking thing? Is it some Texas custom or something?

5. Bits and spurts. I have some pumpkins and scarecrows and an arrangement that I made with cattails and stuff like that. I'll be pulling some more out next week. It's more Thanksgiving related.

I remember after a night of no sleep, going in the car for a drive to put the new baby to sleep. It was a last ditch effort about 3:30 or 4:00 a.m....then a few short hours later, grandma and grandpa showed up to meet the baby!! :0

2.I don't mind the change in time, since it is a signal of cooler days; it feels cozier somehow. And it's more fun to cook for cold weather.

3. Weekend plans? More baby stuff, and helping around the house. Cooking and a little cleaning. More baby holding!!!

4. Yes, I love making soups, chili, breads and just in general cooking is fun when it's not so terribly hot!

5. Yes, I have a few decorations out, and the leaves have begun to fall. That little crispness in the mornings is a feeling I LOVE!

Catherine is just precious!!

My son (once he got home from the NICU)NEVER, EVER, slept....it was horrible! He kept that up until he was around 2, then he would only get up 2 x a night, that lasted until 4, then he only got up once a night until he was 5. He still goes to sleep late and gets up with the sun.

1. I wish that I could type something here.

2. We are having a supper club/pumpkin carving party tonight. I am super excited!

3. NOOOO! I hate it being dark in the evening.

4. Pork tenderloin and soup

5. I'm all decorated for fall inside and out. My mums, astors, and fall anemones are in their glory right now.

Oh my gosh, she is beautiful. I know you can't get enough of her. Even little toes sweet enough to be kissed on. Enjoy every minute you have.

I'm late but I always like to play along. Your little granddaughter is so perfectly pink and adorable : )

1. My first born was the best baby in the universe. Seriously, I can count on one hand the number of times she was 'upset'. She ate and slept from day one. She is 22 and is still a very content young lady. Now, my second born...well, she was a whole 'nother ballgame! Still sweet as pie but cha-llen-ging until about the age of 5. We made it though!

2. We went to a big horse race yesterday. It was a fundraiser for a local hospital and my hubs was invited by a business associate so we were in a corporate tent. It was a gorgeous fall day and lots of fun.

3. I dislike the early darkness in the evenings but I do kinda love that it signals the holiday season will soon be upon us.

4. Lots of soups and lots of crockpot meals. I love them.

5. My backyard is an explosion of color. I have some pumpkins and guords, etc on my fireplace mantle. And mums in pots outside. Fall is my favorite season of the year.

Enjoy that precious little newborn!

Suzanne, she is just beautiful..perfect! thank you for sharing:)

1. My first son was a dream baby..ate and slept. He is 32 now and seems to still be in that pattern, except to go to work, lol.
2nd son..well..if he had been first he would have been an only child..lots of ear infections, colic, etc..ugh

2.Not sure of upcoming weekend plans..Halloween, our neighborhood has no kids so to speak, doubt if we will give out candy.

3. I don't mind 'falling back'..its late this year..it means that fall is here along with upcoming holidays.

4. Cooking..hmm..yes fall and cooler weather more conducive to cooking for this desert girl.

5. Will try to find my fall decorations today..we are still unpacking from our move 16 mos ago, lol..but yes fall candles are out, decor not so much ...Yet!

hugs
