Mondays musings....

You know I haven't done my Friday Fives in some time now.....and I was wanting to hear from you......so is it okay if I do my Fives on Monday musing????
I would LOVE it if you would participate....I am starting my week off today by helping a friend.  I love spending time with her, and she needs to get her PetScan today. You've heard me talk about Mary before....would love it if you could say a special prayer for her and another friend with cancer, JohnG.  They are both such special people!
Then tomorrow I need to shop for T'giving food...or maybe I'll do that tonight.  I vowed, after going into WalMart on Saturday (was it crazy where you live this weekend?) that I will henceforth, NOT be doing any weekend shopping until January.  Just so crazy everywhere...of course I can do shopping during the week, so I am thankful for that.

Ok, so I will get on with my Fives.......
1. Will you be hosting Thanksgiving at your home, or visiting someone else's home?  What will you be cooking?

2. What is your TRADITIONAL food for Thanksgiving...what is a must have for your meal?

3. Is this a stressful time of year for you?  If so, I will be glad to say a prayer for you today!

4. What smells make you swoon this time of year?  What song do you love for Thanksgiving?

5.  Will you shop on Black Friday???????

Hope you will enjoy answering.....I love hearing from all my blog friends...and I hope  your week of Thanksgiving is wonderful!
If you don't shop at the stores on Friday.....you can always shop online at my eOutlet and Willow House website...some super Weekly Deals this week....SL Christmas Cookbook (hardcover) for only $4.96! Check it out at southerninspiration.willowhouse.com!  Enter my name as hostess when checking out if you don't mind...Suzanne Joffrion. Thanks, friends!

1. Will you be hosting Thanksgiving at your home, or visiting someone else's home? What will you be cooking? We'll be at our son's for the holiday.

2. What is your TRADITIONAL food for Thanksgiving...what is a must have for your meal? We are all big turkey eaters, there will two turkeys, one traditional and one blanketed in bacon.

3. Is this a stressful time of year for you? If so, I will be glad to say a prayer for you today!I didn't think this was going to be a stressful year but as it turns out I'll be gone on business until the day before we pick up my SIL at the airport for the holiday so yes.....I am stressed.

4. What smells make you swoon this time of year? What song do you love for Thanksgiving? I usually bake my turkey overnight so I love waking up in the morning and smelling the nearly done bird.

5. Will you shop on Black Friday???????
Not a chance, but my dear niece will be out at midnight to get me a little special "me" gift for the holidays.

Happy Thanksgiving Suzanne.

1. We will be having Thanksgiving dinner at our friend's house...not sure yet what I will be taking!

2.One of my son's favorites is Carrot Souffle and we always have that. Dressing is a usual and I love turkey breast. My husband loves ham, so we will have that sometime during the weekend!

3.Not too stressful this year, but I hate to think that Christmas is not far off, so I'm not thinking about it yet!! :D I look forward to having my kids home from college!
I will pray for you Char, and any who are feeling stressed!

4.smells? Well, I love pumpkin spice, the smell of the meal cooking, the smell of fall in general, and the whiffs I get of Christmas smells to come.....don't want too much of that yet! I love "Come Ye Thankful People Come" and a couple other traditional hymns we sang in church yesterday...and a few hints of Christmas music to come!

5.I will NOT be out there on Friday, especially early Friday morning....but I might just shop online!

So happy to see your Friday Fives, again...even if it is Monday!:)

1. Yes, I will be hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year. My MIL and BIL will be coming over from South Carolina and, of course, Brittany will be HOME! :):) We definitely will be having a smoked turkey and spiral hame with mashed potatoes and squash dressing (YUM!).

2. Oops...I think my answer for this question is above!

3. Yes, I always get stressed out when we have company because I'm such a perfectionist about everything. I'm working on it!

4. I absolutely LOVE the smell of yeast bread!

5. No plans to head out for Black Friday, but I might see if I can find some good deals online.

Hope you and your family have a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING!

1. Yes ma'am, I will be hosting the annual family dinner. We'll have the usuals...turkey, cornbread dressing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, mac/cheese, stringbean/artichoke casserole, sauteed mushrooms, pumpkin pie and chocolate/praline cake.

2. I have GOT to have sweet potatoes.

3. It's stressful, but I enjoy this time of year so I guess it's not so bad.

4. Smells....everything food related.

5. Nope, I think I'll stay home and decorate the house.

1. We go to my husband's grandmother's house which is only about 30 min. away. I am taking macaroni and cheese and watergate salad.
2. We always have turkey and dressing and other traditional foods.
3. No, I am not really stressed. Nov. and Dec. are my favorite months of the year!
4.I love pumpkin and cinnamon smells. That reminds me to get some new candles to enjoy. Not sure about a favorite song.
5. I doubt I'll go out on Friday and shop. I'll probably stay at home and continue with my Christmas decorating.

1. Thanksgiving on Friday, SausagExtravaganza (pounds and pounds of pork to be trimmed, ground, seasoned, and smoked) on Thursday. We are a pretty traditional bunch: turkey (fried), cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes (marshmallows of course), green bean casserole, pumpkin & apple pies.

2. I always make the cranberry sauce. Secret ingredient: Grand Marnier.

3. Don't worry about us, but I'm happy to join you in praying for Mary & John-G!

4. Anything orangey-spicey-clovey!

5. Nope we stay home and fry turkeys. I'm not opposed to a little online hunter-gathering though!

I haven't been able to do Friday Fives in a long tim. Fridays are always so crazy. I love it on Mondays.

1. I will not be hosting. I will be at my MIL's and then my aunt's with my side of the family. Early lunch and late lunch. We'll be stuffed! I am making hot corn, dressing and broccoli casserole.

2. I love fried turkey! That's a must! Dressing, green bean casserole, hot corn, and pumpkin pie.

3. I'm a little stressed, but more because I have orders to fill with all the kids at home. Not easy.

4. My favorite smells are pumpkin pie and clovey things. YUM! My favorite song for Thanksgiving is, believe it or not, The Thankfulness Song by Veggie Tales. Love it! Gosh, can you tell I'm a mom with young kids? HA!

5. I am shopping BF starting at midnight! I'll be up all night.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your kids home from college! Said a prayer for your friends. Hope all went well with the PET scan!
