Song Lyrics - Turn Around
Where are you going my little one, little one
Where are you going my baby my own
Turn around and you’re two,
Turn around and you’re four
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of the door
Turn around (turn around)
Turn around (turn around)
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of the door
Where are you going my little one, little one
*Dirndls* and petticoats, where have you gone
Turn around and you’re tiny,
Turn around and you’re grown
Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own
Turn around and you’re a young
Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own
Where are you going my little one, little one
Where are you going my baby my own
Turn around and you’re two,
Turn around and you’re four
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of my door
Written in 1959 (that was a very good year for babies being born, too! ;) by Harry Belafonte....
Both of my younger children have memorable birthdays this week. My son is getting out of the teen years by turning 20 years old, and my daughter is celebrating her 18th! This old song says it all....weren't you JUST learning to walk, to talk, to learn to ride a bicycle without training wheels, learning how to read and to play a musical instrument???? Weren't you JUST crawling down from my lap after having read your favorite story??? Where DID those years go?? How did the time go by so quickly??? There were times it didn't seem to pass so quickly, but in truth, it really has gone by quickly. We are so proud of the young people God is making out of them, we are so pleased with the heads they have on their shoulders. Today, it's Happy Birthday David and on Thursday, it's Happy Birthday to Allison!! We love you so much! Love, Mom and Dad

Happy Birthday to your good looking children, and amen to the lyrics of the song. I say it so often...where did time go? How did I become this age? Before you know it...they will be asking the same question. Wishing them special times of celebrating.
OK, now that I'm all choked up I'm finding it hard to sing Happy Birthday to your beautiful children. Very sweet post today Suzanne. I hope David and Allison have a wonderful year and know how much they are loved.

I'm right with you! How did this happen??? My children were just these little toddlers playing happily with each other all day and now they grunt at each other, and me sometimes!
Great pictures! Hope you're enjoying the fun of their birthdays!!
Happiest of birthdays to your gorgeous kids! And especially to Allison from Jake (ha ha).
Well Happy Birthday to them both, but ENOUGH. All growing must cease immediately!
