I wanted something new in my foyer, but not something artificial, and I was tired of what I had had there. So I ventured out to the big box garden center and began to look around. I thought I'd enjoy some new life there........and I found the perfect houseplants, (well two to be exact) bromeliads , mostly because I loved the colors in them, and the fact that they just looked kind of hearty. I LOVE hearty! It goes well with the other things I have in that area, too. BONUS!
So I took out my SLaHOME Acanthus basket, and filled it with green moss (well that's what it's called, but parts of it are actually brown), and just stuck the plants in there. I was in a hurry for Bunco, you see. So while I may go back and put the plants in another pot, that didn't happen last Tuesday. The moss was just a cover up......but it adds an element that I like. So here she is....I placed two small ferns in the back for some greenery and height, and color.

I love this! I can actually keep these kinds of plants alive for more than a day! LOL This adds a little life when you first walk into your home. Very welcoming.
Those plants are so pretty & perfect looking, at first I thought they were silk...very nice!

Beautiful! I need to do something different on my foyer table. Thank you for the inspiration!
What a pretty look for your entry table. That plant is beautiful and I do love the container as well...very nice look. I'm enjoying the peek of your picture on the table too.
Oh, call me when your bromeliade dies! LOL ;)
I LOVE the way that looks in the container. I have a hard time keeping plants alive in the house (well, outside too for that matter..lol) so mine are always artificial. I also have a cat and kitten that would shred or eat a live plant!
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog! I had no idea Nester was gonna give me a "shout out." All these new bloggy friends are great.
I got the painting at ROSS. I don't know if they have ROSS where you live but they have wonderful home accents that are affordable. I bought the painting last summer with my b-day money. It was $50. A deal for such a large canvas. Last time I was there they had lots of similarly-sized and styled paintings for that price.
Love your new plant! I also like the container. Your foyer is very pretty. Hope your get together was fun.
This looks very nice...I love plants and miss them in the winter.
Oh No! Not Bromiliads! Sorry, I was just having a flash back. I have a bad Bromiliad experience. They ARE gorgeous. Just don't be a bonehead like me and let water pool in the blooms or they'll start rotting. I'm sure you would never do that though.
Hi Suzanne :)
That looks beautiful! I love having a few plants around the house.
It sounds like you had a great time the other night. I would love to have that turkey breast recipe... pretty please :)
hugs,

The plant in your basket does have beautiful coloured leaves. The whole table looks sooo very inviting. Very lovely arrangement.
Thank you for the inspiration
