How do you hang plates/platters on the wall????

We all love the look of plates hung on the wall, right???? But how do YOU hang them.....use those wire hangers that are so hard to get just right, and hurt like the dickens if they little springy thing ever pops off and gets your fingers!! OW!!! And forget about using them on an oddly shaped plate!!

Well, I just wanted to be sure everyone knows about this product.......I found mine at Hobby Lobby, but here is a website that might just help you. It's a disc plate hanger, and it comes with adhesive on the back to attach to the plate or platter you want to hang.....

Website: http://www.dischangers.com/

What you do is you wet the disc and let it get kind of tacky, then place it on the back of the plate or platter......make sure the disc is placed so that the plate will hang right side up or straight once the disc is adhered.....
Just an FYI for your decorating inspiration for today!!!

Several asked in the comments how long this would last, was it safe, etc? Someone mentioned having had a plate hanging for about four years with one of these. I've used mine about a year and it's still going strong.......haven't heard ANY mention or word of them failing. They are glued on pretty solidly by the time you stick the whole disc on......FYI.

Ohhhh...neat idea. That does look so much better than the metal springy ones....I'll have to give them a try. Thanks for the tip.

What valuable info....I've never hung plates on the wall just cuz it's too difficult and I would end up with a million holes!

Thank you so much for this info! You have inspired me yet again!

I am going to have to look for those. We don't have Hobby Lobby here, but maybe Michaels will carry them. I detest the plate hangers with the spring.

I have always wanted to hang some plates in my kitchen but was terrified of those metal slinky type things they sell to hang them on the walls. Now I will go over board and buy a few of these gizmos and will be living in Plate City shortly:) Thanks for sharing.

Suzanne, I discovered those adhesive hangers last summer. Aren't they the best? I was so afraid it would come off and the plate would fall. If you follow those instructions it's perfect! The plates hang so much better too. :) Good info to share.

Hey, Suzanne!

Thanks for stopping in to say "hi"! I love Emily's blog...so inspirational.

How cool is it that we are so close and met through her post?!

I am a SLAH consultant, too, but not active right now (just had baby #4 in Nov, so life is a tad crazy for now!).

I will add you to my Google Reader so I can keep up with you and your awesome ideas.

I have used those adhesive hangers before. Right now my Florentine tray is hanging in my diningroom above my buffet. It's been there for almost 4 years, so you know those things hold up well!

Suzanne, thanks for this info. I do hate those springy things for many reasons...number one being they look so unsightly. These look fantastic. I bought one but have yet to try it. Thanks for all your info. I must try it!

Hi Suzanne,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving the thoughtful (and fun!) comment. LOL at "blog dance!"

Thanks for providing the web address for the disc plate hangers. I had wondered, since it's advertised as having a permanent adhesive, whether it could be removed safely, if there would be residue, etc. Here's what I found on their site:

"The Disc removes completely in warm water and will not remove back stamps, glazes, or any other markings"

Thanks again!

Girl-I have missed so much on your blog! I think it has been weeks since I have visited anywhere! Trying desperately to get as far as I could in my studies this summer while the boys where home. Now it's about time to go back to work a few days a week, and that will take even more of my time. Can I get a few more hours in the days? Good to see you again. Everything here looks great! Glad you showed everyone the plate hanger, and puppy is too darn cute!

I'll be back as soon as I can-promise!
