It's always fun to share recipes, especially tried and true ones....like this salad, that is SO GOOD for a summer day. I've had it a while, and never tire of it. You may have heard of it, but this is a reminder to enjoy it sometime soon if you've had it. If you've not, try it and it will likely become an old stand by....it's so delicious! Head on over to Jen's and see what else is cooking for Tasty Tuesday. Thanks so much for hosting, Jen!!!

suzanne's summer salad:

1/2 c. sliced almonds
3 T. sugar
2-3 green onions, chopped
1/2 head iceberg lettuce
1 head romaine lettuce

Dressing: Mix and shake and pour over salad right before serving.

1/2 t. salt
dash pepper
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 T. vinegar (red wine, raspberry or cider flavored)
1 T. parsley flakes

  1. Thank you for this amazing looking salad recipe. I can't wait to try it. Also, thank you for bringing a smile to my face yesterday when you wanted to make something rubber that was wood. I could relate to that predicament.

  11. Sounds delicious. I hate cooking in the summer. (I hate cooking in the winter, spring and fall, too, but that's another matter.) Anyway, this would make a great supper on those especially hot nights.
